Programme 09 of 10

International Delegations & Partnerships

Bringing the world to the communities it rarely visits.

Delegations

Field visits hosted for diplomatic and donor partners.

Partnerships

Joint programmes with NGOs, agencies and networks.

Diaspora

Somaliland diaspora engaged in funding and advocacy.

ADAM hosts diplomats, donors, researchers and visiting delegations in the communities we serve, and represents those communities in the forums where funding and policy are decided. Visibility is not decoration — it is how marginalised communities get onto agendas.

Why this matters

Minority communities in Somaliland are rarely on a visitor’s itinerary, and rarely in the room when donors set priorities. A delegation that has met a family and seen a workshop makes different decisions afterwards. Our strategy explicitly includes launching resource mobilisation from community, government, diaspora and international sources.

What we do

  • Hosting international delegations, diplomatic missions and visiting partners in the field.
  • Building and managing partnerships with international NGOs, donors and development agencies.
  • Engaging the Somaliland diaspora as a source of funding, expertise and advocacy.
  • Representing minority communities in national and international forums and networks.
  • Joint programme design and implementation with partner organisations.
  • Coalition-building with peer civil society organisations and human rights networks.

How we work

Partnership at ADAM means shared design, transparent reporting and mutual accountability. Visits are structured so that community members speak for themselves rather than being spoken about, and every delegation is followed up with a concrete ask.

Get involved

Minority communities are not waiting to be spoken for.

They are enrolling children, learning trades, standing for office and documenting what happens to them. Back that work.
